Direct Message

In-App Navigation

Use Direct Messages to privately connect with creators, ask questions, or get support whenever you need help.

There are two ways to access your Direct Messages:

  1. Open the side panel using the burger menu and select Direct Messages. 1
  2. If you already know who you want to contact, visit their profile and click the icon to start a conversation directly.2

This makes it easy to either browse your existing conversations or quickly reach out to a specific creator. In both cases a new Tab will open with the URL chat.arrival.space.

Start a conversation

To start a new Direct Message, click the search icon. 1

The search dialog will open, allowing you to choose whether you want to start a conversation with an individual user 2 or create a new group chat 3.

Direct Message UI

The left side of the interface displays an overview of all your chats, allowing you to quickly switch between conversations.

When a chat is active, the profile of the person you are messaging is shown at the top of the conversation window 1. Here, you can also view their online status and, if available, the Space they are currently visiting. In the example above, the user is currently in a private Space. If the Space is accessible to you, clicking its name will take you directly to the Space where the creator is currently located.

Below the profile section, you will find the conversation history2.

You can manage your own messages by hovering over them and opening the More Settings menu. From there, you can:

  • Edit a message using the icon.
  • Delete a message using the icon.

For messages sent by other users, you can react using the available emoji reactions.

Group Chat UI

The Group Chat interface works very similarly to the Direct Message interface, with a few key differences:

  1. Instead of displaying the profile of a single creator, the group name is shown at the top of the chat.
  2. You cannot directly see which Space each group member is currently visiting.

Manage Group Members

To manage group members, click the member count next to the group name 1.

A small management window will open, allowing you to view existing members and add new ones. To invite someone, click the Add Member button and search for the creator by name.

Once a member has been added, you can hover over their entry to access the More Settings menu, where you can remove them from the group if needed.

Direct Messaging Settings

To access your personal settings 1:

  • Open your own profile.
  • Start a conversation with yourself.
